Should You Upgrade to Windows 10? – WHS 161

If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8 you’ve probably seen a notification from Microsoft urging you to upgrade to Windows 10.

For many people, upgrading an operating system is a daunting task. There are some concerns over losing your existing files, settings, and other customization.

On top of all that, there has been a lot of press about privacy concerns with Windows 10.

In this episode of The Wired Homeschool I will answer the question, “Should You Upgrade to Windows 10?”

The simple, short answer is, “No.” If you’re happy with the way your current computer is working with Windows 7 or Windows 8 don’t bother upgrading. You should, however, reserve your free copy and download it. This will make it easy for you to upgrade in the future, should you desire.

For those of you who want to take a chance, the upgrade process is pretty simple. You might notice a few things that don’t work the same ways as your previous version of Windows but for thew most part it works the same way.

My son started the upgrade one night before he went to bed and it was complete in the morning. You may want to do the same, or, if you have a few hours to kill just stand by while your computer upgrades.

Below are several tutorials that will help you through the upgrade process.
