feature-kids-heroI recently purchased 2 5th generation Kindle Fire tablets from Amazon. Here’s a quick unboxing I did live on Periscope last night.

First Impressions

My initial impressions are positive. It’s much faster than the older model and the new FireOS include great features like parental controls and user profiles which are missing from the iPad and iOS. Restoring from backups of older devices was really easy. The power button, volume toggle, headphone jack, and USB port are all at the top of the device. The cover for the microSD card seems a little flimsy but if you’re not opening and closing it constantly it should be OK. A full review will be coming soon.

  • Wonderful! I’m looking to get one for media purposes only (Amazon music, Video, Audible, Kindle, etc.). I’m really looking forward to your full review – especially regarding any lag or hang-ups. Thanks, John!
