There are a lot of ways you can teach science to your kids. Labs, hands-on demos, textbooks, and online course come to mind. If you’re looking for interesting and fun ways to teach topic you may want to consider looking to these 8 YouTube channels for inspiration

1. Smarter Every Day – Destin is trying to raise money for kids to go to college but don’t think that means you’ll see him schilling a bunch of products for you to buy (though he has taken on a sponsor due to NASA furloughing him). Rather, he shares his curiosity and love of science in entertaining and informative videos.

2. SciShow – Hosted by Hank Green, SciShow discusses science news and history and concepts. Hank’s enthusiasm and witty personality shines in these extremely informative videos. You may want to preview them because sometimes the jokes or topics may not be suitable for children under 12.

3. STEMbite – STEMbite was created by Andrew Vanden Heuvel, mostly because he needed something to do with his Google Glass. Andrew loves trying to do interesting and cool things related to science, technology, and learning.

4. Veritasium – Derek Muller takes science down under in his videos. They include interviews with scientists, science experiments, demonstrations, and interviews with the public. This is a great channel to watch and learn about everythiong from atoms to astrophysics.

5. Numberphile – Math is awesome! It’s everywhere you look and this channel shows you how fun and interesting math can be by interviewing math professors about various topics like squaring the circle and illegal numbers.

6. Sick Science – Watch and learn how to conduct simple science experiments that you can reproduce at home. This is a great way to see the experiment done before you do it with your kids. You’ll no longer have to wonder if you did it right.

7. Minute Physics – Cool science science explained simply. These videos will keep you coming back for more. The artwork is fun and the topics will blow your mind.

8. Periodic Table of Videos – Your ultimate channel for all things chemistry. A video about each element on the periodic table. And we upload new videos every week about science news, interesting molecules and other stuff from the world of chemistry.

Honestly, I could list dozens of channels for you watch. You may be thinking I’ve overlooked some major channels but I just wanted to ween the list so it didn’t seem like you were trying to hold the ocean in your hands.
